Friday nights belong to the garage.

Filthy Friday is open to the wider community, with member bikes and projects at the center—including projects from Tool and Social members.

Work through a problem, watch a process or pull up a chair. Beginners and experienced hands share the room. Owners stay involved in their projects; public attendance does not include independent tool use.

A proper bar, café, comfortable seating and art on the walls. Watch MotoGP, MotoAmerica and movies on the 130-inch projection screen with a quality sound system, or spend an evening talking bikes.

Music and comedy nights add to the calendar. The workshop and clubhouse are heated and air-conditioned.

The public café opens when staffed, typically on weekends. Look for the sign outside.

Started in Denver. Carried to Brooklyn.

Andrew Raitz developed the original Filthy Friday format. Kevin supplied shop space, tools and mechanical experience, then carried that shared approach to Displaced.

Filthy Friday: real work, shared knowledge.

Filthy Friday is the weekly rhythm of the shop: real member bikes and projects, worked through together. Open to members, guests and the broader motorcycle community.

You don’t drop the bike off. You stay with the problem. Members work on their own motorcycles, help with someone else’s project, watch a process, and trade what they know. Beginners and experienced hands share the room; you don’t need a project every time to enjoy the company.

The tradition began in Denver, where Andrew Raitz developed the format and Kevin provided the shop, tools, and mechanical experience, working alongside owners. Kevin carried that spirit to Brooklyn.

Some nights gather around a particular process, such as wheel balancing or a brake-caliper rebuild. Others follow the work members bring in. It’s participation and shared problem-solving, rather than a standing class or a drop-off repair service.

Social and Tool members are part of Filthy Friday, too. You’re welcome to come observe and hang out without bringing a project. Public attendance does not include independent use of workshop tools or equipment. Ask about upcoming nights when you inquire.

A place to stay after the tools go away.

There’s somewhere to go even when the bike is running perfectly. Meet a friend for coffee, bring your laptop, talk through a project, or stay after the tools are put away. The clubhouse brings together a café, gallery space and member lounge. Four mini-split heating and air-conditioning units help keep the space comfortable through the seasons.

We watch MotoGP and MotoAmerica, put on movies and shows, and have music in the evenings. Comedy returns roughly every four to six weeks. In between, there’s room for coffee, conversation, and the people you get to know by coming back.

The café is open to the public when staffed, typically on weekends. Look for the sign outside. A full workshop tour is by appointment.

Before you join.

Can I join if I’m new to working on bikes?

Yes. Beginners are welcome. Tell us about your motorcycle, your experience, and what you want to learn so we can talk through a sensible starting point. Membership does not promise one-to-one instruction or included repair labor.

What if I get stuck on a job?

Ask. Kevin can help point you in the right direction, talk through a problem, or show you how a specialty tool is used. This is brief guidance and troubleshooting; membership does not include repair labor or unlimited one-on-one instruction.

How do I use the specialty tools?

The member toolbox covers everyday work. Specialty tools are available on request. Ask before starting a job that needs specialist equipment, and discuss any parts, consumables, or equipment requirements with us.

Do I need to keep my motorcycle here?

No. Tool membership is for members who keep their motorcycle elsewhere. Social membership is for clubhouse access without mechanical workspace. Premium combines a motorcycle space with workshop and lounge access.

Can I walk in for a tour?

For a proper look around and a conversation about joining, request an appointment. The public café may be open when staffed, typically on weekends; look for the sign out front.

Does an inquiry reserve a space?

No. We first confirm fit and availability. For storage, the existing $75 non-refundable reservation holds an accepted space for up to 30 days and is credited toward the first month.
